Pikeville Court Convicts Salyersville Man

  • {Kentucky}...Tuesday, a U.S. District Court jury in Pikeville convicted 54 year old Randall Salyer of Salyersville on two counts of vote buying and acquitted him on two other counts. Prosecutors say Salyer paid $100 to each voter who brought him their absentee ballot during the 2010 general election in Magoffin County. The general election was held in part to select a candidate for the office of the United States Senate which made the case eligible for federal prosecution. Salyer, who is scheduled to be sentenced in November, faces up to five years in prison.
