Boone County Accident Injures Two
{Kentucky}...Police in Boone County say an accident Wednesday morning on U.S. 42 near Cleek Lane in Verona injured 45 year old Rodney King and 29 year old Adam Reid, both of Walton. Police say King was driving a dump truck west on U.S. 42 in a heavy downpour when he lost control of the truck, went left of the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound International truck pulling a trailer with a Bobcat on it. That truck was driven by Reid. The impact caused Reid's truck to catch fire, and he was trapped inside the cab with the steering wheel pinning his legs. Eugene Wilson, 55, of Independence came upon the accident, and he and another unidentified man attempted unsuccessfully to put out the fire with fire extinguishers. Wilson pulled Reid from the truck which became fully engulfed in flames. Ried was transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his legs. King was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky with unknown injuries.
