Harlan County Mine Back Open Today After Yesterday's Accident

(Harlan County, Ky) - A coal mine in Harlan County is back open today after an accident yesterday sent one man to the hospital. Officials say Jimmy Saylor was working on a belt within the mine when he was struck by another piece of equipment that was supposed to be shut off. Electrical inspectors are on the scene today checking to see if the accident was a mechanical error with the equipment. Saylor remains in stable condition at Holston Valley Hospital with several injuries.
