Hazard Man Faces Animal Cruelty And Drug Charges
{Kentucky}...Forty-seven year old Pete Cassinelli of Hazard is facing animal cruelty and drug charges after Major Minor Allen with the Hazard Police Department and representatives from the health department responded to a residence on Eversole Street Friday where they found two starving dogs inside. Allen says fecal matter was scattered about in one of the rooms where two emaciated dogs had been found living. Allen says it was the worst possible scenario that you could imagine as far as garbage inside of a residence. The rooms that the animals were living in were unkempt, with fecal material just probably six inches deep in some of those rooms. Search warrants were obtained for both houses where police say they located narcotics and approximately 40 assault rifles, the latter of which prompted police to contact federal authorities with the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Additional charges could be pending as ATF and Operation UNITE continue to investigate.
