Eastern Kentucky Hunter Found Dead

(Boyd County, Ky) - As deer hunting season is underway, hunter safety is a top concern for many, as an eastern Kentucky hunter was found dead in the woods on Saturday. Officials say Joseph Whitley of Boyd County left home at 2pm on Friday to go hunting, but never returned home. His wife reported him missing at 7:30am Saturday, and a search quickly began. His body was found around 9:30am, and officials say it appears Whitley died from injuries he received in an ATV accident. No foul play is suspected.
