Morgan County Opposes Post Office Closure

{Kentucky}...The U.S. Postal Service is considering closing 3,700 offices across the country. The Mize Post Office located inside of J.A. Oldfield's General Store in Morgan County has been in operation since 1882 and the store has been there even longer. As part of the cutbacks, it may be closed by next year. Mize residents gathered at a town meeting Thursday to let USPS officials hear their concerns. The fate of the nearly 140 year old post office has not yet been decided, but Pat Wooten, a representative from Hal Rogers' office, said that he and the Congressman will do what they can to ensure the people’s voices are heard.
