Powell County Explosion Injures Two...Kills One

{Kentucky}...Jerry Roberts and his sister, Karen Knox, remain in critical condition at UK Hospital after a house on Upper Paint Creek Road in the Stanton community of Powell County exploded about 10:30 A.M. Thursday morning, killing their father, Jack Roberts. Jack Roberts' body was inside the house for several hours as firefighters fought a blaze that broke out after the explosion. Officials say the house was destroyed, and the roof collapsed into the basement. Family members say Jerry Roberts was injured when he went into the home in an attempt to save his sister. Both of them have third and fourth degree burns. State Police are investigating and have not released an official cause for the explosion, but family members say it may have been caused by a faulty propane gas line.
