Vehicle Driven Over Hill at Pikeville Overlook

(Pikeville, Ky) - Just after 2pm on Monday, the Pikeville Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 call saying a vehicle had gone over the hill at the overlook at Bob Amos Park in Pikeville. When they arrived on the scene, witnesses said they saw a vehicle go through the fence and over the hill near the actual overlook cage. Members of the Pikeville Fire Department were able to extricate the victim from the vehicle, which had gone about 350 feet over the hill. They were then able to lift the victim back up to the awaiting ambulance, where he was transported to Pikeville Medical Center. The victim's name has not been released, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
