Kentucky Power Workers Helping In Northeast

{Hazard/Pikeville/Ashland, Kentucky}...Kentucky Power workers from Hazard, Pikeville, and Ashland left from Paintsville Monday afternoon headed to Hartford, Connecticut after a rare October snowstorm left more than two million people in the northeast without power. Forty-eight Kentuckians will be in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Connecticut working to repair downed lines. They are returning the favor to the power crews who helped repair lines in eastern Kentucky during the snow storm the week of Christmas in 2009. Kentucky Power crews estimate it will take at least one week to restore power to everyone. Forty-two tree trimmers from our region are also going to help.
