Dogs Removed From Former Pike County Official's Home

  • {Pikeville, Kentucky}... Friday, animal control officers removed more than 100 dogs from the home of  former Pike County Deputy Judge-Executive Randal Good and took them to the Pike County Animal Shelter, where they are being cleaned and treated for malnutrition. Current Pike County Deputy Judge-Executive, John Doug Hays, who oversees the animal shelter, called the condition of the dogs "heartbreaking." This is the second time more than 100 animals have been removed from Good's property. The first time was in 2004. Good says most of the dogs were given to him by people who didn't want them anymore, and, although he tried to care for the animals, he became overwhelmed.
