{Pikeville, Kentucky}...Wednesday morning, a federal judge sentenced former Magoffin County principal and teacher Darrell Patrick to 60 months in prison. Operation UNITE investigators say Patrick was trafficking drugs in Magoffin County. As part of his plea deal, Patrick also forfeited 87 firearms to the federal government that he admitted were used to further his drug trafficking. According to his plea agreement, starting in August 2009, undercover investigators with Operation UNITE bought Oxycodone tablets from Patrick on several different occasions. In October 2009, a search warrant was executed at Patrick’s residence and authorities found a small amount of Oxycodone tablets, firearms inside a gun safe and a bulletproof vest next to the gun safe.
