The deadline for applying for federal assistance to help with recovery from the Feb. 29-March 3 storms is approaching in Kentucky. The deadline to apply with the Federal Emergency Management Agency is May 7th. FEMA can offer help to homeowners and renters including grants for temporary housing, home repairs and other related expenses not covered by insurance. Businesses, homeowners, renters and nonprofit organizations that need help also have until May 7th to apply for low-interest disaster loans through the federal Small Business Administration.
