Raise For Floyd County Employees

{Prestonsburg, Kentucky}...The Floyd County Fiscal Court voted last Friday to add a 2 percent pay increase for all county employees and to restore $70,000 to the budget of senior citizens centers. During a work session two days prior, Magistrate Hattie Owens said that if the court could not afford to give its employees a raise, she didn’t feel like magistrates should be “giving it all away” to senior citizens centers, but, on Friday, Owens made the motion for the raise and the additional money for the centers, and it was unanimously approved. The resolution was passed in connection with the first reading of the 2012-13 budget proposal.
