Three Remain Hospitalized After Floyd County Accident

Three people injured in an accident remain in a hospital in West Virginia. Officials say a fatal crash in the Middle Creek area near Prestonsburg on Tuesday involved 22 year old James "Jimmy Jam" Mace of Pikeville. Pike County Commonwealth's Attorney Rick Bartley says Mace, who was convicted of several felony charges for crimes committed since 2008, had recently escaped from a treatment facility in Elizabethtown and should have not been on the road. Kentucky State Police say Mace's vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle, killing 63 year old Brenda Montgomery of Jackson and sending Montgomery's passenger, Elsie Oakley, to Highlands Regional Center, where she was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital. Mace and his passenger, Jonathan Crider, were also airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital. Thursday, Oakley remained in critical condition. Crider was listed in fair condition, and Mace was listed in good condition.
