{Hazard, Kentucky}...Monday morning, the prosecution in the Perry County murder trial of Sarah Melton called Dr. Richard Johnson, Melton's psychologist while she was at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center, to the stand. Prosecutors were attempting to combat the defense's claim that Melton's mental issues caused her not to have control of her actions the day she shot and killed Cindy Caudill and injured her brother, Bill Couch. Dr. Johnson testified that he did not see her as fitting the criteria of being legally insane. Johnson’s conclusion about Melton was the opposite of another psychologist called by the defense last week. The jury is expected to begin deliberating Tuesday after both sides give their closing arguments.
