ASPCA Seeks Control Of Pike County Animal Shelter

{Pikeville, Kentucky}...The Appalachian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has submitted a proposal to take over management of the Pike County Animal Shelter. The ASPCA issued a contract asking the Pike County Fiscal Court to let them take the shelter over. The group says they can help reduce the number of animals that are euthanized by studying other shelters run by ASPCA groups. ASPCA says they also plan to implement a more aggressive spay and neuter program to reduce the number of animals being brought in.
