Letcher County Getting Clean Water

{Whitesburg, Kentucky}...The Letcher Fiscal Court approved a $150,000 project that includes the installation of county water lines in the Shelby Fork and Mill Creek communities. The new water lines will be funded by coal severance money through House Bill 265. Mark Lewis, the general manager of the Letcher County Water and Sewer District, says the goal is to try and get water to every resident in the county. The Mill Creek/Shelby Fork project will be placed up for bidding on November 3rd. It should be completed before summer 2013.
