Inmate Allegedly Assaults Guard


{Prestonsburg, Kentucky}…Thirty-nine year old Jeremy Ison of Pikeville was charged last week with four counts of third-degree assault for allegedly attacking Floyd County Detention Center guard Parker DeRossett. DeRossett alleges that, on December 12th, he opened Ison’s cell door to give him his tray of food, and Ison ran forward and attempted to spit on him. Ison was forcibly restrained and during the confrontation allegedly bit DeRossett’s left hand. Third-degree assault is a class D felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, and $10,000 in fines.
