A virtual tour of the Mountain Parkway Expansion Project was part of a community meeting held last night at the Salyersville Elementary School Gymnasium.
Project manager Marshall Carrier said construction that would widen and improve a 21-mile stretch of the
Mountain Parkway between
and Salyersville could begin very soon. He estimated crews would start clearing
out trees by no later than January and start using bulldozers and excavators by

Drivers could see traffic delays during construction, but transportation officials predict the project will make the road safer in the long run.
