Kentucky State Police unveil statue honoring fallen troopers and officers

It honors every Kentucky State Police trooper or officer who died in the line of duty. Monday afternoon state police unveiled a new statue outside the KSP training academy in Frankfort.

The statue titled "The Trooper" is nearly 10 feet tall. The inscription "For All That Serve And Those Who Gave All" adorns the base.

The statue represents all of the troopers and officers who have died in the line of duty, but its likeness is based on a specific trooper, one who never came home.

The project is being paid for through fundraising. So far organizers have raised $72,000 but hope to raise $100,000.
