Toddler found crawling down Floyd Co. road, grandmother charged

A grandmother is in jail after her 11-month-old grandson was found crawling down a Floyd County road alone.

Police say the toddler was found attended in the rain and was dirty, but did not appear to have any significant injuries. He was taken to the hospital for a check-up.

Tammy Cooper, 48, was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment. Police say Cooper called 911 to report her grandson missing after she noticed he was not in his bedroom.

Bryan Hall, who found the child, says he and his friend Melissa were driving down the road when they saw the 11-month-old crawling in the rain.

Cooper is lodged in the Floyd County detention center.
