Big Sandy holds 'Registration Blitz'

College students around the region will be back in class soon, and many are signing up now. Big Sandy Community and Technical College is holding its annual Registration Blitz this week. Students are finalizing schedules and applying for financial aid. Officials at the Pikeville campus said advisors and staff have been busy meeting student needs. One student said community college is important in her pursuit of a higher education.

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is hoping for a statewide enrollment of 4,000 students in the fall semester. The system needs fewer than 1,000 additional students to reach that goal.
