Farmers market holds 'Garden Party'

Rain or shine, the Pikeville Farmer’s Market doesn’t quit. The “Master Gardeners” hosted a “Garden Party” during the market Tuesday evening, in spite of a small pop-up shower. While the usual vendors set up shop in their normal places, the Garden Party gave those who prefer floral gardens over vegetable gardens a chance to view flowers that are most suitable for Eastern Kentucky weather, climate and soil. Viewers were also given the chance to vote on which flower they enjoyed the most. Master Gardeners member Bonita Rose says she thinks the Garden Party was a success.

The Pikeville Farmer’s Market is open every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 1 pm. If you would like to become a member of the Master Gardeners, you can do so by contacting the Pike County Cooperative Extension Office at 606-432-2534.
