Jenkins job fair draws hundreds

Hundreds of people attended a job fair in Jenkins this morning for a new call center set to open in the city next month. Volunteers told us that 213 people filled out applications in hopes of landing one of the 50 jobs with Healthcare National Marketing. The jobs boast a starting pay of $11 an hour and are full-time positions. Those who will be working at the call center will be charged with contacting potential customers interested in purchasing insurance coverage.

A volunteer at the job fair said if the call center is successful, a second shift of 50 more employees could be added. The job fair was such a success that a nearby church was opened in order to accommodate the large crowd.
