Business leaders from several Eastern Kentucky counties attended a customer service workshop today at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg. BLISS – which stands for “Business Leadership Innovation Service and Style – is a two-hour training focused on improving customer service and increasing business. Today’s event was centered around communities working together and promoting events across county lines.
Organizers pointed out that tourism is a $13 billion industry in Kentucky, and they believe Eastern Kentucky needs a bigger slice of that pie. Today’s speaker, Michelle Allen, explained that one of the worst examples of customer service is to answer a question with “I don’t know”
Today’s free workshop was sponsored by Paintsville Tourism, Paintsville Main Street and the city of Prestonsburg.
