(AP) — Louisville Slugger is making World Series game bats for the New York Mets.
The factory in downtown Louisville will begin producing the bats on Friday.
The company says it has made bats for players in every World Series since 1903.
The bats for the Mets will be made to each player's specifications, including three new bats for New York's Daniel Murphy, who hit home runs in six consecutive playoff games. Murphy uses a 33.5-inch, 31.5-ounce birch Louisville Slugger.
Bats for the American League champions will be made on Monday after the Kansas City-Toronto series is finished.
