West Virginia AG to offer a week of anti-scamming tips

(AP) — Tis the season for scams.

With that in mind, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is ringing in the holiday season with a weeklong series of tips on how to recognize and avoid them. The series starts Monday.

Morrisey says the holiday season typically is a busy time of the year for scam artists who prey on the giving spirit of the season.

Upcoming topics credit card offers and how to approach them cautiously and giving wisely to charitable organizations.
