(AP) — Authorities say the driver of a log truck that struck two students as they were getting off a school bus in Wayne County has been cited.
Media outlets report Johnathan Pack of Kermit was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and for passing a stopped school bus following the incident Monday afternoon.
West Virginia State Trooper Daniel Curry says the truck was traveling on state Route 152 in Lavalette when it experienced a brake malfunction and was unable to come to a stop behind the bus that was letting off the two students.
He says the truck swerved, striking the students, ages 10 and 15, and a minivan.
The students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Curry says the van driver also sustained minor injuries.
