Another Fire in Logan, West Virginia

An early morning fire alarm is becoming all too common for members of the City of Logan’s Fire Department. The crews were roused from bed again Monday morning for a call in a familiar location, High Street where yet another empty home went up in flames under suspicious circumstances.

Those events have resulted in the destruction of a dozen structures in just over three weeks.  Most of those have been vacant homes, but a few were occupied.  So far nobody has been injured, but officials worry it’s just a matter of time.

It’s all hands on deck in the investigation.  The State Fire Marshal, city fire marshal, Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Logan Police Department and the West Virginia State Police are all involved in the investigation.  Officials don’t believe it’s a single individual more like a group of individuals who may know one another.
