(AP) — The warehouse crew at Country Boy Brewing is honoring country music legend Merle Haggard with a stamp on the bottom of cans filled this week.
One of the company's owners, Daniel Harrison said the workers are country music fans, and when they heard of Haggard's death Wednesday, they decided to put a message on the cans.
On Thursday morning, a worker added a date stamp on the bottom of Cougar Bait cans that read "R.I.P. Merle."
Once the Lexington brewery posted a photo of the stamp on Facebook, people started calling and saying they wanted the cans.
There are about 2,800 six-packs of Cougar Bait with the memorial stamp, making their way to stores. Harrison said people can also stop by the Lexington taproom and ask for one.
